My Mac gets hot and the fans get loud

Goodmeet runs its AI models on your Mac rather than in the cloud, so transcription and summarising use your own CPU and GPU. On a longer meeting that's enough work to warm the machine up and spin the fans up with it. The heaviest moment is while a summary is being written.

This is normal, and it stops on its own. Once the summary is finished, Goodmeet goes back to idle and your Mac cools down.

Summaries are generated manually, so the timing is up to you. If you have another call straight after, or heavy work waiting like a build or a video export, leave the meeting note as it is and generate the summary once your Mac has some breathing room. Your recording and transcript are already saved, so nothing is lost by waiting.

If your Mac is hot before Goodmeet even starts, something else may be running.
