Save and use your recovery code

Your meetings are encrypted so that only you can read them, which means Goodmeet cannot reset your access the way other apps reset a password. The recovery code is your way back in if you lose every linked device or reinstall the app.

When you enable encrypted sync, Goodmeet generates your recovery code (it looks like GN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and asks you to save it before sync turns on. Store it somewhere safe. A password manager works well.

Use your recovery code

  1. Install Goodmeet on the new device and sign in.
  2. On the device-link screen, choose Cannot access my devices.
  3. Enter your recovery code and click Recover. Your meetings sync down to this device.

Replace your recovery code

Go to Preferences > User > Regenerate recovery code on any linked device. Your linked devices stay connected, and the old code stops working once you confirm you've saved the new one.

Important: if you lose all your devices and your recovery code, your synced meetings cannot be recovered by anyone, including our support team. The encryption is designed so that no one else can open your data. You can reset the account to start fresh, which deletes your synced meeting data from our server.
