Record and summarise a meeting

Goodmeet records your microphone and system audio together, shows a live transcript while you talk, and writes the summary the moment you stop. The audio itself is never stored.

Ways to start recording

  • Click Quick Recording on the home view.

  • Click an upcoming event, then start recording from the meeting note. Opening an event doesn't start recording by itself, so you can write an agenda first.

  • Use the menu bar icon, which shows today's meetings and a Start New Recording action.

  • Click Take notes when Goodmeet detects you're on a call and offers a reminder.

While recording

  • A floating pill shows recording status even when Goodmeet is in the background.

  • Pause and resume anytime, so breaks and off-topic moments stay out of your transcript.

  • Browse other meetings or take typed notes; recording continues uninterrupted.

Stop and get your summary

Click stop on the floating pill, in the meeting view, or from the menu bar. Goodmeet also ends the recording when your call ends. If nothing new has been said for a while, it checks in and asks whether to keep going.

Your summary starts generating as soon as the recording stops, combining the transcript with any notes you typed. It's written in Confidential Compute, a sealed environment where your transcript is processed and then discarded. Nobody, not even us, can access your information.

Because of that, summarising needs an internet connection. Recording and transcription don't, so if you're offline or the connection drops partway, your recording, transcript and notes are all saved and you can generate the summary once you're back online.

When it's done, copy the summary, your notes, or the transcript to your clipboard and paste it into Slack, email, or a doc.
